See Where You Are: light, line & landscape
Description
See Where You Are: light, line & landscape 3-week series
Tuesdays 2, 9 & 16 December, 12-1pm Melbourne time (AEDT)
This three-week special series explores the lay of light, shadow, line and shape in the discovery of landscape. As we shift into the longest or shortest days of the year (depending on where on the planet you are), what is the light creating and revealing? Through focus on foundational elements of the visual world, we can reimagine the concept of landscape as invited through the frame of the camera.
Each session I offer guided mediation and somatic movement practices that engage different aspects of sensing and perceptual process. We play with ways of attending to and framing sensory experience, and invite creative perspectives on movement and the visual world. This leads into a specific invitation to guide your contemplative photography practice for the week.
There is a shared space on Padlet, where you can easily upload photos, and see the images other participants have created. Reflecting on the felt sense that the images convey is part of the process. We learn from each other and our shared experience.
Zoom classes will be recorded in case you have to miss a session, want to revisit a class, or even want to do the course at a slower pace.
Classes meet on Tuesdays 12-1pm Melbourne time (AEDT) on 2, 9 and 16 December (which is Mondays 8-9pm EST the days before).
Requirements:
-You need a camera or phone with enough space for photos. You don't need anything fancy, the simpler the better so you can focus on what you are seeing.
-About 30 minutes each week to practice contemplative photography. This can happen anywhere, including inside your home.
-A little space to move or lie down during the class sessions.
-Uploading a selection of your photos to Padlet before the following week’s class
