Event description

THIS EVENT IS FOR KPU STAFF, FACULTY, AND STUDENTS ONLY

In an era defined by digital disruption, educators are continually seeking innovative ways to enhance learning outcomes and engagement. This session demonstrates how Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) can transform online classes into dynamic, broadcast-quality presentations—without the need for a full production crew. By integrating multimedia elements into synchronous and asynchronous content, educators can not only elevate the professional feel of their courses but also increase student engagement and improve learning outcomes in a disruptive marketplace.

About the speaker

Alym Amlani is an educator and author specializing in accounting and information systems. He is an instructor in the Melville School of Business and was recently awarded the KPU Distinguished Teaching Award. A two-time "Best of the Teaching Professor Conference" honoree (2020, 2024) for his innovative approaches to exam design and educational technology, Alym brings practical solutions to today's teaching challenges. Drawing on his unique background as a professional magician, he makes complex concepts engaging and accessible across disciplines. His research on the Science of Magic informs his creative approach to problem-solving in education, particularly around emerging technologies and academic integrity.
