Lights Sculptures in the Botanical Gardens
Event description
As you stroll through the lush landscapes and majestic trees and of Adelaide Botanic Garden, you will be Inspired by the world's most celebrated contemporary glass artist, Dale Chihuly.
His mother’s love of gardens and his own connection to nature, Chihuly embarked on a creative journey to develop massive architectural glass installations for display in botanic gardens.
Learn how to shoot in low light without a tripod, this takes practice to get things right and using the right equipment also helps.
You will have access to a range of lenses and bodies that will help capture stunning images at night.
We will start at Teds Store on Rundle St at 6pm for a run through of settings and how to use the cameras, we will then head over to the gardens and set you lose, concluding at 9pm.

- A look at the exposure triangle
- Taking control your shutter speed
- ISO and how to use it
- What focusing mode and focus area.
- Choosing the right equipment
What to bring:
- Your own ticket to the Chihuly Nights event on Thursday, April 17th.
- Your DSLR or Mirrorless camera (all brands welcome!) Don't forget to charge your batteries and bring spares
- Memory card so you can keep your photos at the end of the workshop
- Water bottle
- Please bring weather appropriate clothing include a jacket
- Comfortable shoes
- Insect Repellent (Non-DEET based is recommended for care of your camera equipment.
