Description
Babywearing with South Eastern Babywearing Group
Join us for a relaxed, practical babywearing session with the South Eastern Babywearing Group, hosted by the Yarra Valley and Surrounds Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association.
Whether you’re completely new to babywearing, trying to work out which carrier might suit you, or already have a carrier you’d like some help with, you’re very welcome.
We’ll cover the T.I.C.K.S. guidelines for safe babywearing, look at the main styles of baby carriers and how they work, and help you achieve a safe, comfortable fit.
Bring along any carriers you already have — new, borrowed or second-hand — for a fit check or troubleshooting. We’ll also bring a selection from our demonstration collection so you can see and try different styles. You don’t need to own a carrier to attend.
Pregnant and expectant parents are very welcome, as are partners, grandparents and other support people. Babies, toddlers and older children are welcome too.
Free, independent babywearing support
South Eastern Babywearing Group is a volunteer-run, non-commercial community group. Our sessions are free and we don’t sell baby carriers or receive commissions from carrier sales. Our aim is simply to help families carry their babies and children safely and comfortably and make informed choices about what works for them.
Bookings
This is a free event, but registration helps us know how many families to expect and allows us to contact you if there are any changes to the session. Walk-ins are welcome where space allows.
Stay in touch
When booking, you can choose to receive occasional emails from South Eastern Babywearing Group about upcoming free babywearing events, workshops and resources. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Photography
We sometimes take photographs at our events to share information about South Eastern Babywearing Group and our community activities. Please let us know if you would prefer not to be photographed, or if you are happy to be photographed but would prefer your child’s face not to be shown.
