Linocut Printmaking Workshop
Description
Join artist Alex Kostivat for a free, hands-on linocut printmaking workshop at UIMA. Participants will explore techniques for creating multicolor relief prints (rainbow roll, chine-collé, and reduction) and can choose which one they’d like to dive into.
This is the second linocut workshop held in conjunction with our exhibition of works by Jacques Hnizdovsky (1915-1985), one of the most celebrated Ukrainian-American artists of the twentieth century, best known for his masterful woodblock prints of cats, sheep, trees, and the natural world. Drawn from the Institute’s Permanent Collection, the exhibition is presented as part of UIMA’s 55th anniversary celebration.
