PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care and end of life care.
Program Objective:
PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.
The workshops are interactive and provide time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).
Intended workshop audience: ALL Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers regardless of setting or knowledge of a palliative approach to care.
Aim of workshop: Develop an understanding of a palliative approach for people with a life-limiting illness and their families.
Topics include: what is a palliative approach to care, common symptoms and management for end of life care, how do we know when someone is passing? supporting patients during the returning to Spirit journey, Advance Care Yarning, Self Care & keeping your Spirit strong; overview of PEPA and placement opportunities.
