Cascadia Folk Choir Presents LISTEN: a Community Sing Concert
Event description
Imagine a concert where YOU become part of the choir.
Join us for an interactive community sing concert where YOU learn the songs and SING ALONG — making music to connect, to heal, to remember we all belong. Guided in-the-moment, no experience needed! Just bring your voice and a willingness to sing.
Cascadia Folk Choir is an all-inclusive, beginner-friendly adult community choir & musical practice space inspired by the community singing & song circle movement. We learn (and write!) "emergent folk" repertoire (i.e. circle songs) in a low-pressure, supportive environment that prioritizes playfulness over perfection while also building real musical skills. Once per year we hold our end-of-season concert & community sing - because music is better when we make it together.
FAMILY FRIENDLY! Kids under 12 get in free - just please reserve a free "kids" ticket for them!
💸 A good time for a good cause
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated directly to our local song leaders, who nourish our lives with their spirits & songs.
We are also partnering with and tithing to Portland-based nonprofit Brown Hope - an incredible organization that is building a movement of interdependence, working with neighbors from all different backgrounds to inspire the racial justice and healing our communities need and deserve.
