LISTEN to Country: Languages

The Australian continent has over 440 First Languages. First Languages have been here since the beginning. They belong to Country. They hold knowledge and identity. They shape the way First Nations understand the world. Colonialism has threatened the living nature of these languages, harming culture and Country in the process.

Letitia Harris - proud Wiradyuri yinaa, brilliant teacher, strong nation builder - holds the window a little open for us onto a world of wonder, beauty and extraordinary depth: the Wiradyuri Language. Reflect on how we (as practitioners, researchers and students of wildlife, health and the environment) might ethically engage in the restoration of First Languages.

Starting at 9.00am November 14th 2024 AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time), the event will be live broadcast on Zoom.

Proudly supported by the Wildlife Disease Association and Gulbali Institute, Charles Sturt University.
