Listening Session no.4

The audience is invited to witness the creative process of building 2 new pieces of music in two 'live' collaborations. Nothing will have been written or rehearsed beforehand. Nothing will have been discussed about the unfolding pieces except to choose the pitch of the drone that will be sounding underneath each trio of musicians in each half of the concert.

Listening Session no.4 is using a slightly different format to the first 3 sessions. The first half will include Ric Halstead, Tunji Beier and Linsey Pollak and after a short interval Jeunae Rogers will join Tunji and Linsey for the 2nd half.

It is as though the audience has been invited into the collective musical mind of each trio of musicians for the duration of the collective improvisations. It is this 'process of creating' the music rather than the 'product' of the completed composition that is given precedence.
