This presentation aims to equip teachers with practical, evidence-based strategies to build literacy skills, create inclusive learning environments, and inspire confidence in their students. By understanding the specific needs of learners with Down syndrome and employing targeted approaches, educators can unlock their potential and help them thrive as confident and capable communicators. 

Meet your speaker: Alison Maunder - Education and Employment Manager

Alison Maunder is an educator of over 20 years, specialising in literacy intervention for students with high-support needs. She has worked in a range of diverse learning environments, and since 2019, has developed and initiated a targeted reading program, working specifically with students with Down Syndrome. She is passionate about developing not only literacy skills but also the overall growth and well-being of all students. She strongly advocates for an inclusive educational environment where every child is given the opportunity to achieve their full potential.   

This session will not be recorded.

We’ll have 1 hour of interactive workshop content, followed by a 30-minute Q&A, so there’ll be plenty of time to ask questions and dive deeper into the topics covered.
