Little Artists: Art in a box
Description
In this session, Little Artists will create a unique art piece in a box, using assemblage and collage techniques. A flower arrangement, a rocket flying in space, or maybe a bird sitting on a tree, each artist will decide what image they create. Inspired by our dreams or everyday places we love, the artwork will be cherished in this box!
Materials: paper, cardboard, cut out shapes, natural materials, fabrics, glue, scissors, felt pens.
Definitions and Learnings: This activity encourages learning through story telling, as well as developing fine motor skills using a variety of applications, techniques and tools to assemble the artworks. Children will learn to cut, paste, and place different shapes and materials to create an image.
Ages: For pre-school aged children and their parents/carers
Cost: FREE
Where: Pop-Up Benalla Art Gallery, 75 Bridge St.
Benalla Art Gallery’s Little Artists program is developed specifically for pre-school children. We use games, story-telling and creative activities to encourage young children, and their parents and carers, to have fun while learning about art.
