Little Brains, Big Year - School Readiness Morning for Mums

You've bought the lunchbox. You've labelled the shoes. You've had approximately one hundred conversations about what school is going to be like...

But have you ever wondered - is my child's brain and nervous system actually ready for what's coming??

Not in a worrying way. Just in a "I want to understand my child better" way.

This morning is for exactly that.

We're hosting a small, intimate school readiness morning at Wellness on Wellington in Wellington Point, with lovley Dr Tessa sharing some really eye-opening insight into how children's brains and nervous systems develop - and what that means for how they learn, settle, and thrive in a school environment.

This one is especially worth coming to if your child is:

• Heading into kindy or Prep and you're wondering if they're really ready

• Already in their first couple of years of school but finding it a bit harder than you expected

• Struggling to sit still, concentrate, or settle into the school routine

• Showing signs of developmental differences you haven't quite had explained yet

This isn't a lecture. It's a gentle, relaxed conversation between local experts and local mums - with morning tea and plenty of time to ask the questions you've been quietly carrying.

You don't need to have concerns about your child to come along. Sometimes the most useful thing is just understanding a bit more about how their little brains work.

Talia will be there to greet you and help you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive.

Here's what we do to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible at Social Mums Club Events…

- We tend to keep our events small - so you don't have to walk into a big group

- We have really clear signage, and the host wears a bright pink t-shirt so you can easily spot us - you don't have to worry that you might be in the wrong place or with the wrong group

- Our events are never cliquey - the ladies at the event are usually meeting for the very first time, so you will not be the only person who doesn't know anyone

- You can come early - we know the hardest part about turning up to an event is walking in. We invite anyone who is anxious to reach out to the host and turn up 15 minutes early so you are the first one there. You can sit next to the host too.

- We ensure you feel included - another fear is that nobody will talk to you or you'll feel awkward or different. Our hosts are experts at making every attendee feel welcome and included. You will feel at ease with us.
