Event description

Little Clouds are a subtly nostalgic, feel good singer songwriter duo from Sydney, Australia. AKA Nick Henderson & Emily-Rose Sharkova write lofty afternoon inspired hits and introspective midnight bangers, laced with clever lyrics and sweet chords that make you feel real good. And let’s be honest – we are all in it for the feelings. They move between their multi-instrumentalist personalities of guitar, bass, banjo, piano, keys, synths, accordion and vocals. It is intimate. It is real. Journeys will be had.

Little Clouds full length studio album ‘Quiet Life’ was released on January 5th 2024 and has been described by fellow Australian artists as "The best summer album of 2024" and "definitely one of the top tier contemporary folk/pop acoustic albums of last few years. The perfect balance of superb relatable songwriting, incredible recording and production, amazing playing and somehow diverse but coherent album about the dichotomy of the "big"/quiet life which rings deep for musicians."

Joining Little Clouds for the evening is captivating guitarist Felix Lalanne. Felix is an Australian freelance guitarist and composer known for his versatility across jazz, metal, and fusion genres. Originally from Paris, he began his musical journey learning drums and guitar from his father before studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he collaborated with leading Australian jazz improvisers and international artists like Reinier Baas and Florian Ross.

A 2017 finalist in the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition, Felix returned to the Montreux Festival in 2018 to perform with the Montreux Academy, supporting Chick Corea’s acoustic trio. Felix is an active member of The Good Behaviours, whose debut album was nominated for Folk Album of the Year and who have recently performed at the National Folk Festival. Felix has also toured with the metal jazz group Arcing Wires and the high-energy band Funk Engine.

Doors open at 6pm for dinner with music at 7pm. We want to include guests of all budgets at Cobargo Commons, so please choose a ticket price suitable to your means, with or without dinner. (By the way, this event is not byo.)
