Little Garden Makers Club 🌱🎨
Join us for the Little Garden Makers Club, a free monthly craft group where children can get creative, connect with others and enjoy hands-on activities inspired by nature and gardening.
Each month, children will make a fun decoration to either take home or add to their family or community garden plot. Activities may include painted garden rocks, garden signs, nature crafts, wind chimes, bug-themed creations and other seasonal projects.
The club is open to children of community garden plot holders, as well as their grandchildren, cousins and friends. It is also a lovely opportunity for local families to experience what the community garden is all about.
Important information
This program is completely free.
Bookings are essential, as places are capped at 10 children per session.
A parent or responsible adult must remain at the community garden for the entire session.
For children under five, a parent or responsible adult must remain with them and actively supervise during the activity.
Please book one ticket for each participating child.
All activity materials will be provided.
Children may wish to wear clothes that can get a little messy.
Come along to craft, create, connect and grow together while inspiring a love of nature, creativity and community gardening. 🌻🐝
Wet weather
The Little Garden Makers Club will still go ahead on wet-weather days, as we have access to undercover areas at the community garden. We recommend wearing gumboots and weather-appropriate clothing so children can comfortably walk around, explore the gardens and enjoy the outdoor activities—even if it is a little wet! 🌧️🌱
Donations and recycled materials
At Little Garden Makers Club, we aim to use as many affordable, recycled and easily accessible materials as possible. We want to stretch young people’s imaginations and show them that art can be created from almost anything!
A small list of items we are currently collecting will be displayed in the community garden’s art space. When you have any of these items at home that you no longer need and would like to donate, please bring them to the community garden on a Saturday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.
Your donations will help us keep the program free, reduce waste and give children even more opportunities to craft, create and grow. 🌱🎨♻️
