About the author: Olivia ‘Liv’ Sisson is a curious observer and author who has been enchanted by the minutiae of nature for as long as she can remember.

Raised in Virginia, USA, Liv first learned how to spot small wonders in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She studied geology and art before moving to Aotearoa with her now husband. They live in Auckland and enjoy exploring the flora, fauna and fungi that define this special place.

Liv's first book, Fungi of Aotearoa, was a bestseller, won several awards and was shortlisted for an Ockham New Zealand Book Award.
