Event description

Join Rod Oram live from Glasgow as he reports on progress at the UN Climate Change Conference and brings a New Zealand perspective.

Rod Oram is the only NZ journalist attending the conference in person. This is a special opportunity to listen to Rod comment on the UN climate negotiations.

He will be joining us live just before the start of negotiations and just before they close.

The COP26 summit brings countries together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. The negotiations will be the first time in two years the nations of the world will have come together. The aim of the conference is to secure global net zero emissions by 2050. All countries are being asked to come forward with ambitious 2030 emissions reductions targets that align with reaching net zero by the middle of the century. It’s a critically important gathering for Planet Earth with wide-reaching implications for the way we live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand.

While international media will cover COP26 in depth, Rod will bring a New Zealand perspective to the commentary, together with coverage of our government’s performance in Glasgow.

With the final deadline of the conference in sight, Rod will assess the state of play, propose the likely wins and issues that are still unresolved. He’ll also convey a flavour of the jamboree of side events involving technology, lobbyists, NGOs and more.

This event is free for SBN investors (members) and $20 for non-investors.
