Live Learning 37: What's Your Students' Starting Line?
Description
Live Learning is Future Anything's continuing professional development series for educators. Each month, the Future Anything team chats with awesome movers, shakers, thinkers and doers on topics designed to help build enterprising mindsets in Aussie classrooms.
Regional gaps in maths, reading and Year 12 completion are measured, reported and funded. But there's a gap of the same size that nobody is measuring. Data from 7,589 students across 91 schools shows that regional public school students start more than 14 percentage points behind their advantaged metro peers in capability confidence.
In this session, Dan is joined by Future Anything's Founder and CEO, Nicole Dyson, to unpack the data behind The Starting Line: Australia's National Capability Benchmark. Nic will explore what these findings reveal about where students begin, and why capabilities like agility shape how students engage, learn and thrive, both in class and beyond the school gates.
You'll learn how The Starting Line works: a free, anonymous 10-minute survey measuring the confidence of Years 5 to 12 students across six capabilities. Your school gets a benchmarked report and helps shape Australia's first national picture of where students and teachers begin.
Register free now (if you can't join live, all registered participants will receive the recording with 72 hours of the session).
