    Event description

The REthink Nillumbik program is funded by Nillumbik Shire Council and supported by Edendale Community Environment Farm and NECAH (Nillumbik Environment and Climate Action Hub). Liveable homes

There's no place like home ... unless it's freezing in winter and sweltering in summer!

Is your house always a little too hot or cold? Do you find yourself having to run the heater or air conditioner non-stop just to keep it at a comfortable temperature? Find out how to make your home super comfy all year round with simple improvements to suit your unique family and situation. We'll help you identify the places your home is losing or gaining heat, plus work out a roadmap to comfort and lower energy use that's totally achievable and within your budget.

During the session we'll have FREE items to give away, including door seals and low-flow shower heads. We'll give you tips for making the most of government rebates and incentives, plus highlight simple habits and behaviours you can change to save money and make your home more liveable. For the gadget lovers, we'll show you how to access and use the Sustainable Home Audit Kits available to loan from your local library. These kits contain equipment to help you monitor the energy and water use in your home, and are free for residents to borrow.

You'll come away with loads of ideas you might never have thought of, and a solid plan for making your home more liveable.

    About the REthink Nillumbik Project

The REthink Nillumbik Project is a series of fun, interactive workshops to create a more sustainable and liveable Nillumbik. Sessions include a range of activities to help local residents reimagine our collective approach to energy and waste.

REthink events are collaborative, hands-on, and can help people take small actions that can lead to serious, positive change. They include practical demonstrations, creative activities, and simple ideas for rethinking everyday choices and behaviours. We want you to leave each session feeling motivated and empowered to make change. By working together, we can create a more sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come!
