Lived experience/peer work introduction
This short online course will introduce you to the methodology and philosophy behind lived experience peer work.
You’ll learn about the National Lived Experience (Peer) Workforce Development Guidelines and their implications for organisations that employ peer workers. You'll also explore the Intentional Peer Support model of practice, one of the most highly regarded practice models internationally.
This course is highly recommended for non-peer workers, general staff and those wanting to expand their knowledge on the topic.
When: 2 to 4pm on Wednesday 8 February
Where: Online (Zoom link will be provided closer to the date)
Cost: Free (members), $20 (non-members)
Registrations close at 5pm on Tuesday 7 February.
About your trainer
Training is provided by Ben Matthews of the Mental Health Community Coalition ACT (MHCC ACT). Ben has worked in the peer space for over 10 years and has developed and delivered the Cert IV Mental Health Peer Work in the ACT.
