David Leser is an Australian journalist, public interviewer and author of seven books including his most recent, groundbreaking "Women, Men and the Whole Damn Thing" about the history of patriarchy and misogyny in the age of #MeToo. David has interviewed everyone from Meryl Streep and Ayaan Hirsi Ali to Gina Rinehart, Alan Jones and the Dalai Lama.
As the host of our “living room” conversations - intimate, rich and deep conversations with writers, leaders, musicians, elders, and creatives - David dives into topics including hope, grief, love, relationship, faith, the future, mental health, poetry, and creativity. In his inimitable way he goes deep into the the heart and mind of his guests, traversing territory only he can.
David's guest is Dr Miriam Rose Ungunmerr, Aboriginal elder from Nauiyu (Daly River), renowned artist, activist, writer and public speaker. In 1988, Miriam presented a paper at a conference entitled Dadirri - Inner Deep Listening and Quiet Still Awareness at conference. This beautifully concise explanation of the spiritual dimension of Aboriginal culture has since been utilised by people working in diverse settings and in private meditations all over the globe. Miriam has become a spokesperson for this important aspect of the Aboriginal worldview and is regularly invited to share dadirri with groups all around the Australia and further abroad.
