Living Seawalls Tour
Description
Join a tour of the Living Seawalls installation at Clontarf. Innovative habitat panels, developed based on over 20 years of research, are revitalising marine ecosystems along the hardened shoreline.
Professor Melanie Bishop will be leading the tour where you’ll explore the installation up close during low-tide. Professor Bishop is the Living Seawalls Co-Lead, marine ecologist and former NSW Scientist of the Year who will share how these installations are restoring coastal ecosystems across the world with species such as snails, crabs, oysters, mussels and seaweeds colonising these structures.
Living Seawalls were finalists in the Earthshot prize, a prestigious environmental award established by the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Presented by Northern Beaches Council as part of Ocean Festival 2026.
