Description

Nature has never lived in a straight line.

The trees rest before they bloom. Rivers rise and recede. Birds migrate. Seeds wait beneath frozen ground long before anyone sees the first signs of spring. Every part of the natural world moves through its own seasons of growth, rest, release, and renewal.

We do too.

Yet many of us have learned to ignore those inner rhythms. We expect ourselves to feel the same energy, maintain the same pace, and move through life as though every day belongs to the same season.

But what happens when it doesn't?

What happens when the world around you is celebrating Beltane, yet your heart feels like Samhain?

When autumn is asking for harvest, but inside you're standing at the quiet beginning of Imbolc?

Or when spring bursts into bloom while you're still carrying the inwardness of winter?

This class is an invitation to explore one of the most important truths of seasonal living:

The season outside us and the season within us are not always the same.

Rather than seeing that as something to fix, we'll discover how it can become a source of wisdom.

Drawing inspiration from the Celtic Wheel of the Year, we'll explore the four great seasonal turning points—not as holidays to celebrate perfectly or traditions to memorize, but as living patterns that help us understand where we are, what we need, and how we might gently return to greater balance.

The Wheel becomes less of a calendar...

...and more of a conversation.

A way of asking,

What season is the earth living in?

What season am I living in?

And how might those two seasons begin speaking to one another?

The Conversation Between the Seasons

Using the four great Celtic fire festivals as our guides, we'll explore both the rhythms unfolding in the natural world and the seasons unfolding within ourselves.

Together we'll discover how:

  • the season outside us doesn't always match the season within us

  • every inner season has its own wisdom, purpose, and gifts

  • imbalance often begins when we resist the season we're truly living

  • the Wheel of the Year offers a compassionate map for understanding our own lives

  • we can gently partner with nature to support whatever season we're moving through

We'll journey with the four great turning points of the Celtic year:

  • Samhain — endings, reflection, ancestry, and the unseen

  • Imbolc — hope, quiet emergence, and new beginnings

  • Beltane — vitality, creativity, connection, and full expression

  • Lughnasadh — harvest, gratitude, discernment, and gathering what has grown

Rather than studying the Wheel as history or folklore alone, we'll learn to recognize its patterns living within us every day.
