Living Water: Launch of CRA Schools Wetland Challenge

Join us to celebrate this year’s Season of Creation with an inspiring online seminar focusing on the theme Living Water, and launching the CRA Schools Wetland Challenge, an exciting national initiative of the CRA Integral Ecology Committee.

The CRA Schools Wetland Challenge invites schools across Australia to deepen their understanding of local wetlands and waterways, and to take practical action to care for and protect these vital ecosystems. Students will be encouraged to become citizen scientists and advocates for the natural places they love.

As part of the challenge, schools within the CRA community will be invited to “adopt a wetland” — any place where water is present — and learn how to observe, protect and celebrate these important environments.

This online launch event will feature inspiring presentations from Fiona Basile, award-winning photographer and story-teller, and Andrew Kelly, a passionate waterways advocate.

Come and discover how we can help nurture care for creation and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

Fiona Basile is an internationally recognised photographer and writer with over 20 years of experience. Her global journey has exposed her to various cultures, fuelling her passion for storytelling through photography and writing. Fiona's work inspires others to seek joy and meaning, with her photography exhibited internationally in the USA, Sweden, and Melbourne.

Andrew Kelly is a writer and waterways advocate known for his award-winning children's picture books, including "Prayer for a River." He served as the Yarra River’s keeper for seven years, promoting the Yarra River’s recognition as a living entity, and he continues to support waterways through the Waterways Network and the Concerned Waterways Alliance.
