Description

Are you finding it hard to be kind to your body while learning to manage your diabetes? Does it seem like everyone has an opinion on what is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ and you’re losing confidence in your choices? Does it feel like your values and living well with diabetes can’t co-exist?

It’s so common to have a hard time building a peaceful relationship with food and our bodies. Managing a complex condition, like diabetes, can make it even more difficult. We’re here to help make sense of it all.

Diabetes and Relationship to Food and Body is a free, online workshop for people of all genders who are 16 and older. If you live with diabetes or support someone who does, this workshop is for you.

Together in a small group with the guidance of a registered dietitian, you will:

  • get tips to help build a confident relationship with body and food while living with diabetes.

  • learn how your care might incorporate a Weight Inclusive Approach.

  • explore compassionate approaches to living with diabetes and managing blood sugars.

  • get evidence-based information about carbohydrates.

  • learn how to manage food fear and avoid binge/restrict cycles.

This workshop takes place online. There will be a Teams link in the reminder email sent prior to the session—you can join from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.

***To create a welcoming space, this workshop will not be recorded and must be attended live***

The Provincial Eating Disorder Prevention and Recovery Program hosts free monthly workshops online and, occasionally, in-person. These workshops are open to anyone age 16 and up who wants a more peaceful relationship with food, their body, and themselves. Click here to learn more.
