Lizard Log Bush School Thursdays 2026 (2.5 - 5 year-olds)
Description
Bush School is a nature play program for 2.5 - 5 year olds and their carers, set in the woodlands of Lizard Log, Western Sydney Parklands. It’s about climbing, collecting, splashing, balancing, building, and wandering - without rushing to the next thing.
Term 4: Thursdays Oct 15- Dec 17
Each week at Bush School brings something new to discover! We’ll follow the rhythms of the season and see what’s happening in the bush- from cheeky channel-billed cuckoos and laughing kookaburras to colourful rainbow lorikeets and ibis exploring the wetlands. We’ll be planting, building shelters, searching for nature’s colours, making paints and dyes from plants and mud, creating tree spirits from clay, turning bush treasures into festive decorations, and so much more.
There’ll be plenty of time to play, explore, get muddy and follow whatever sparks children’s curiosity. As always, our sessions are shaped by the weather, wildlife and the wonderful things children notice along the way.
Kids set the pace. Educators support the play. Adults stay and get involved, learning alongside their child through nature connection and hands-on activities.
What to expect:
Nature-based free play and sensory discovery
Mud, sticks, leaves and imagination
Bushcraft and storytelling
Carer-child connection through shared outdoor experience
Practical take-home ideas for nature play
This is a stay-and-play program — carers are part of the learning journey too.
Age: Children 2.5 - 5 years
