CONCERT DESCRIPTION
Bach & Art is an immersive one-hour concert where music and visual art converge on stage. Two world-class musicians perform masterpieces by J.S. Bach, while two contemporary visual artists create live art in response to the music’s intricate dance rhythms and emotive melodies.
As the musicians bring Bach's timeless compositions to life, the artists translate the music into vivid visuals, capturing the essence of each piece in real-time. This dynamic collaboration invites the audience to experience the fusion of auditory and visual arts, showcasing the profound connection between music and the creative process.
A unique Long Listen 🎧 festival collaboration between visual artists and musicians, this is a fun fusion of classical music and contemporary visual art, offering a multisensory experience transcending traditional artistic and concert boundaries.
Bach & Art features acclaimed cellist and concert artist, Louise King, an award-winning graduate of the Royal College and Royal Northern College of Music, in England performing the complete Suite 1 in G major. Joining Louise on stage will be a guest artist, Michael Knopf on classical guitar performing transcriptions of Bach for 11 string and 6 string guitars. Michael’s guitars are exquisite handmade luthier instruments and he will introduce the audience to their innovative design and sound and how it has informed his composition practice after the concert.
