Loose Threads Social - A collaboration with Te Atamira's Community Craft series
Description
Loose Threads is a free, relaxed social night where you can bring your own clothes to mend, meet new people and finally get around to those small repairs you’ve been meaning to tackle.
Think less sewing class, more social night with something useful to do while you chat.
We are so excited to partner with Te Atamira Community Craft Night - free, welcoming creative gatherings that foster connection, belonging, and wellbeing. By removing barriers to access, this program opens up new learning opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and background.
How it works:
Bring a project, grab a cuppa and settle in for a couple of hours of mending and good company. Work at your own pace, swap ideas with the people around you, or ask one of our volunteer menders for a little guidance if you get stuck.
Never mended anything before? That’s completely fine. You don’t need sewing skills or a perfectly planned project to come along. Loose Threads isn’t a formal workshop, and our volunteers won’t repair your item for you, but they can help you figure out where to start and share a few tips along the way.
Come with someone or on your own. The whole idea is to create an easy place to meet people while giving something you already own a little more life.
