Loosely Woven: Trouble and Strife
Event description
Loosely Woven is a troupe of proven and popular crowd-pleasers from Sydney made up of an eclectic group of singers and musicians who enjoy playing together. Their gigs are characterised by strong musicianship, humour, mirth, joyfulness, variety, colour and movement.
This show, Trouble and Strife, will see some twenty singers and instrumentalists present a light-hearted, folky sort of eclectic concert. Instruments you will hear include violins, saxophone, clarinet, flute, harmonium, concertina, glockenspiel, melodica, guitar, keyboard and percussion. The music ranges from folk to pop to grand opera – something for everyone.
They have been performing now for thirty years. We have immensely enjoyed hosting them on three occasions in the Courtroom, beginning with their delightful take on Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. While each concert had different themes and feels, they were alike in the warm and enthusiastic responses they elicited from the audience.
This year, they will appear in our newly renovated shire hall, which has recently been transformed into a great performance space. Loosely Woven's talented and engaging performers will deliver musical virtuosity and delight for two 60-minute sets punctuated with light refreshments—all for only $10. The fun begins at 1 pm.
