Written for Loren Kate’s brother, who has spent many Christmases behind bars, the song was recorded three years ago - a moment captured in time that Loren wasn’t sure she’d ever release. “I didn’t know whether to share it with the world or keep it just for my brother,” she says. “But I think maybe it’s time.”

Set against the backdrop of an Australian Christmas - the heat, the chaos, the traditions, and the quiet - Christmas in the Dark holds space for love that endures even through separation, and the small light of hope that never really fades.
