Event description
lot19 2024 Spring Sculpture Prize: Youth Workshop
Make a Basket using recycled materials!
Use recycled materials such as wool and cardboard boxes to make a colourful basket.
Humans have been making baskets for thousands of years to hold and carry food and other objects. They look beautiful and are fun to make, so come along and learn a new skill! There are many ways to make baskets, and in this workshop, you will learn a basic stake and strand weaving technique.
Limited to 12 participants, and recommended for ages 8-12, this workshop, run by artist and teacher Jodie Goldring, will be held in the unique surrounds of the lot19 W-Class Melbourne Tram, as part of the 2024 Spring Sculpture Prize.
Jodie Goldring is a Sculptor and Art Teacher who has a broad range of creative experiences to share. Materials will be provided.
