Event description

For the occasion of Lōemis festival, Berlin-based artist Lou Drago will host a new listening-occasion, alongside Wellington artist and gong specialist Erika Grant (Orchestra of Spheres). Get comfortable, lie down if you wish, and be enveloped by a carefully constructed live soundscape that unfolds over the course of 2 hours.

___
Lou is a Berlin-based artist working with sound, performance, and collective practice. Their work explores altered perceptions of time, sonic healing, and shared listening as a form of connection. They are the creator of Suspending Time and Dissident Vespers, and curator of the experimental music show t r a n s i e n c e on Berlin’s Cashmere Radio. Lou also performs with marum as infinity rug, hosting sonic séances that blend sound, care, and collective experience. A founding member of the XenoEntities Network, they have presented work across Europe and internationally, in venues, festivals, and broadcasts.

___
In the lead-up to this event, Lou will spend a month in Wellington exploring and recording coastal sounds – as part of an annually occurring residency initiated and funded by the Goethe-Institut New Zealand, and supported by Wellington City Council.
