Event description

Louise Park is an Australian children's author known for her work in literacy education and writing engaging books for young readers.

She has written under her own name and pseudonyms, including H.I. Larry for the Zac Power series and Poppy Rose for the Bella Dancerella books. She co-created the Boy vs Beast series, which combines adventure and science fiction elements to encourage reluctant readers.

Her recent publications include Last Man Out: A Personal Account of the Gallipoli Evacuation, a book based on her grandfather's letters and journals detailing his experiences as the last man to leave the Anzac evacuation during World War I. It was listed as a 2024 CBCA Notable Book of the Year.

Louise has also developed literacy programs and contributed to children's learning through fiction and nonfiction works. In addition to writing, she is a strong advocate for literacy and often speaks about strategies to help children develop strong reading habits.

Louise will discuss her writing process and novels at this event. There will be an opportunity to ask her questions, purchase some of her books and have them signed.

This event is suitable for students, parents and staff in Prep-Year 9
