Love in the Woods Hike
Event description
Join us for a walk in the woods at Dupont Open Space on Valentines Day. Whether you're wearing boots, crampons, or snowshoes it's bound to be a stimulating activity. We'll take a beautiful walk in the big Cottonwood Trees along Plum Creek and learn about the unusual mating activities and behaviors of some of our native animals. You'll be amazed to learn about wild turkey love... but wait until you hear about porcupines! This walk is suitable for adults and older teens due to the educational content- but perhaps it's mostly about being in love with a walk in the woods.
Dress appropriately for the weather- we may be walking through snow, ice, and/or mud. Bring your camera or nature journal, and a travel mug for hot chocolate, which will be provided before the hike!
DLC hikes are offered free of charge, but a $10 per person donation is suggested so that we may continue to offer educational outreach events in the community.
