    Event description

This event has been cancelled and will be rescheduled in the near future. Please get in touch with sustainability@whittlesea.vic.gov.au if you'd like to be kept updated on the event.

Do you love nature? Are you on the path to living a more sustainable, and nature-connected life? Do you want to meet like-minded people?

Join us for this no-cost, in-person workshop! This workshop is a follow-up from February's popular Discovering Biophilia workshop. Previous workshop attendees are welcome as we plan next steps for the creation of an ongoing project, group, or series.

New to the idea of biophilia but keen to check this out? Newbies are also welcome! Biophilia means 'love of the natural world.' Experts point to numerous physical and mental health benefits of increasing our time in nature. This workshop will explore the nature-body connection through guided activities and nature meditation.

Everyone will get to make and take home a handicraft. Healthy snacks will be provided.

Children aged 5+ are welcome but must be supervised at all times by their carer.

    Schedule:
    11am-12pm - meditation and crafting

12pm-1pm - snacks and workshopping next steps for group

    Contact sustainability@whittlesea.vic.gov.au with questions.

The CoW Sustainable Communities Workshop Series aims to up-skill City of Whittlesea community members in the art of sustainable, climate-resilient living and community-building.

Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to be entered into a prize drawing at the series' end. Every workshop participant will also receive a certificate of recognition for their participation and have the opportunity to share their learnings and creations at the celebration showcase in November 2024.

The City of Whittlesea Council acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, the Wurundjeri Willum Clan and Taungurung Peoples and we pay respect to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
