    Event description

As part of Eco Fest 2024- Join us for a guided walk exploring some of the Kōrero Paki (stories) of Te Wai o Pareira (Henderson Creek), hear about her history, the challenges she faces and see some of her taonga.

We will start in Taipari Strand where we will see the only remaining stand of native bush on the Peninsula, walk to Renata Esplanade for some of the best views of Te Wai o Pareira and then on to Tawa Esplanade, an area Rivercare Group have worked hard to restore.

Along the way we will tell stories of ecological, historical and cultural value of this incredible area as well as talking though some of the challenges the awa faces. We would love to hear your stories too!

Be in quick as tickets are limited

Please bring sturdy shoes, a water bottle, a hat and jacket.

This walk is not strenuous but unfortunately will not be suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs due to stairs and grass. Feel free to contact us if you would like to join in but have limited mobility and we can arrange for you to meet us at suitable parts along the way.

We look forward to seeing you!
