Event description

Join us for a Low Emissions Agriculture Field Day hosted by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), Charles Sturt University (CSU) and Adelaide University.

Field walks and talks will include:

  • On-farm emissions

  • Reducing livestock emissions in grazing systems

  • Methane Emissions Reduction in Livestock (MERiL) Project

  • Enhanced Efficiency Fertilisers (EEFs)

  • Low methane pastures

  • Nitrogen emissions from crop residues

Bring a hat and closed shoes. Please note there are limited toilet facilities near the field walk sites, public toilet are available on the CSU campus.

Meeting Point: Outside reception at Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute, Pine Gully Rd, Wagga Wagga (near Albert Pugsley Place) We will leave at 8:30 to travel to the paddocks. GPS coordinates will be sent to you by text the day before the event.

RSVP for catering purposes (Morning tea to provided.)

Please remember clean shoes and clean vehicles when entering the research station.

OPTIONAL:
Following the Low Emissions Agriculture Field Day, the On-Farm Carbon Advice team is inviting farmers to take part in a one-hour discussion with researchers from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), aimed at gathering insights and experiences around carbon and emissions on-farm.

The session will begin at 1:00 PM in the Conference Room, Block D, with a light lunch provided.

Topics may include supply chain pressures related to emissions, any actions you've taken to reduce emissions on your farm, your thoughts on carbon farming initiatives, and any expectations or concerns you may have for the future. Your input will help inform ongoing research and contribute to shaping practical, farmer-led solutions.
