Low Waste Tramping
Description
Introducing Low Waste Tramping, something new for our Low Waste Living series.
We love getting out into the hills, but heading away for a day or a few nights can come with a surprising amount of stuff. Food packets, toiletries, single-use bits and pieces… it all adds up. So we’re bringing together some good people, practical know-how and hands-on making for an evening all about doing things a little differently.
We’ll be joined by guest speakers who’ll share their real-life experience of reducing waste while tramping. We’ll explore things like dehydrating food, homemade trail meals and natural alternatives for your pack. And there are plenty of benefits beyond reducing waste, from saving money to making nutritious meals that suit you.
Then we’ll roll up our sleeves, with a few simple things to make and take home, from food for the trail to beeswax wraps and natural products. There’ll be plenty of time to ask questions, swap tips and share ideas too.
You don’t need to be a seasoned tramper to come along. This is for anybody who wants to tread more lightly in our beautiful outdoors. We're not teaching you how to tramp. We’re sharing practical, achievable ways to create less waste and rethink what goes in your pack.
You’ll head home having learnt heaps, made a few useful things and hopefully feeling like, yep, I can do that.
