Lower Cross Syndrome - Melbourne

Lower Crossed Syndrome (LCS) referenced to Professor Janda refers to altered posture of the lower back and pelvic region due to specific muscles being short and tight and long and weak, this can then lead to multiple biomechanical changes of the lower body over a period of time. These changes can contribute to a number of musculoskeletal conditions that can lead to local and distal pain, decreased range of motion, and poor functional movement patterns needed on a daily basis. Not only can LCS cause soft tissue pain and dysfunction involving the spine but it can also lead to hip, knee, foot and ankle associated soft tissue/joint pain and dysfunction.

This two-day theory and practical workshop will cover specific musculoskeletal conditions related to LCS, manual handling in the form of specific myofascial techniques and specific joint mobilisation techniques, corrective exercises and corrective stretching will be implemented to help reverse these postural changes leading to a reduction in pain and significant increases in range of motion.
By the end of this two day workshop the participant will be able to accurately assess and treat the lower spine for LCS with a range of different soft tissue modalities, joint mobilisation techniques, and will be able to prescribe specific exercises for long term management.
