Lughnasadh Dance - Lion's Gate Dance Ceremony

Deepen into the heat of summer with Lughnasadh Dance!

We are excited to offer ceremony and celebration of life, honoring the midpoint between the summer solstice and autumnal equinox. Lughnasadh, also known as Lammas, is a harvest festival in the wheel of the year, known as the "first harvest". It is also a celebration of the Celtic sun god, Lugh! Without the potency of the sun, there would be no harvest. Together we will celebrate the abundance of life that the sun provides.

Typically, Lughnasadh is celebrated on August 1st, but what power it is to celebrate this sacred holiday during the Lion's Gate Portal. 8/8 is a potent day for manifestation in its connection to the celestial bodies and infinite wisdom of the universe.

We will celebrate and manifest together as we engage with this potent energy of abundance, creativity, and gratitude.

This dance is NOT at Thyme Travelers. It is on a private property in Westhampton, NJ.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

DYE BATHS

During the retreat weekend, we will harvest and gather herbs to make dye baths for our dance! Bring an item to dye! They will be available all night.

FIRE DANCE

We will have live fire performances!

Timmayo the Grateful is a Philly native and a true wizard of his craft—an artist who feels most at home guiding dance-floor journeys that dissolve boundaries and awaken the soul. Rooted in Philly's hip-hop and house scenes, he grew up immersed in movement culture: battling with breakdance and house crews, practicing in parks, teaching kids to dance as a way to keep them inspired and off the streets, and contributing to events alongside local legends like King Britt, members of The Roots, and other underground pioneers.

His path has since carried him far and wide-from didgeridoo ceremonies with Aboriginal elders in the Outback to studying sound with maestros in Peru's Sacred Valley, to curating ecstatic dance events on Lake Atitlán. First introduced to ecstatic dance more than ten years ago in the Bay Area, he has been a devoted practitioner and facilitator ever since, helping create and DJ Ecstatic Dance Puerto Rico and producing pop-up dances throughout Guatemala.

A multi-instrumentalist, skydiver, massage therapist, and occasional yoga teacher, Timmayo brings a lifetime of movement, mysticism, and musical exploration to every set. He's studied with artists such as Mose, Yemanjo, Captain Planet, and Scott Nice, continually evolving his sound as the digital landscape shifts. As Master of Ceremonies, he seamlessly weaves global textures and rhythmic worlds

LION'S GATE PADDLE + CAMP OPTIONS (Ticket add-ons)

Paddle - A guided paddle tour at 11 AM for the Lion's Gate. We will forage while we paddle, as well as learn about the flora and fauna living along the Rancocas Creek. Followed by a guided meditation on the water. Option to stay after the paddle to make dye baths with us!

SPEND THE DAY ($111) - Spend the day! Paddle, dance, camp! Enjoy a morning paddle to then make dye baths and alters, before dancing the night away. Camp overnight into an easeful post-Lion's Gate Portal morning.

Born through collaboration via Thyme Travelers Conservatory, we are three women - Allie, Gina, and Simcha - connected in our spiritual practices, friendship, and deep desire to create nourishing experiences for our community.

We celebrate the cycles of earth through ceremony on the sacred days of the Wheel of the Year, which is deeply rooted in ancient rituals that have guided our ancestors for millennia. It is with this sacred knowing we collaborate and we introduce ourselves to you as Ancestral Rhythms.
