Lula - The Wisdom of Our Cycle
Description
For much of our lives, we're taught to move through the world as though we're the same every day. To show up, keep going, push through. Yet our bodies tell a different story. Just as the natural world moves through seasons of growth, fullness, release and rest, our bodies mirror these cycles. Our menstrual cycle carries its own rhythm, one that, when we begin to pay attention, can offer us a deeper understanding of ourselves and the way we move through the world.
What might become possible if we began to see our cycle not as something to manage or endure, but as something to listen to, honour and be in relationship with?
This workshop is an invitation to deepen our understanding of menstruality through education, reflection and embodied practice.
We will begin by exploring the four inner seasons, a framework developed by Red School that maps the changing energetic, emotional and psychological landscape of the menstrual cycle. From the inward pull of inner winter to the expansive energy of inner summer, we will explore how recognising these rhythms can support us to live in greater harmony with our bodies.
From here, we will turn our attention to our menarche, our first bleed, reflecting on the stories, experiences and beliefs that shaped our earliest relationship with menstruation. Through te ao Māori, we will explore ancestral perspectives on menstruality, including traditional ways of acknowledging and marking this significant rite of passage.
We will close with a guided journey to help anchor our learnings and begin to cultivate a more intimate and loving relationship with our bleed.
This is a space for curiosity, reflection and remembering. No prior knowledge is needed, and all practices are invitations.
Come as you are, with an open mind and a willingness to listen to the wisdom of your body.
This space welcomes women at all stages of life, whether you're cycling regularly, moving through perimenopause, menopause or beyond. Wherever you are in your journey, this is an invitation to explore, reflect and deepen your connection to the wisdom of cyclical living.
