Event description
🌘🌕🔮 Eclipse season is here! March 25’s Lunar Eclipse is in the sign of Virgo in the star of Hasta nakshatra. This Full Moon marks the Festival of Holi, the celebration of the return of spring. Hasta’s symbol is the hand. Ruled by Savitur the Sun God, this is a star of awakening and manifestation. 🤲✨🌸
An earth sign, Hasta has us hyper-focused on purity and the material world. Unless we are connected to something greater, our eye is fixated on “what’s wrong” or “could be better,” making us overly-critical, and stuck in the Maya (illusion.) This makes us prone to overthinking, a trait that serves as both our asset and liability. Initially, conflict arises as we grapple with the lessons of release and letting go. Ultimately, this is how we attain tranquility and unity. 🌎💭🌿
In Hasta the soul becomes entangled and stuck in material pursuits, needing to invoke the higher power and see the inner realm to find a sense of calm beyond the nervousness. Chanting or listening to the Gayatri mantra facilitates the development of our higher selves and liberates us from worldly attachments. Hasta’s deity Savitur advises us to draw inspiration from sacred sounds to illuminate the celestial realms and higher consciousness, yet many Hasta individuals solely crave material inspiration, keeping the mind unsteady. 🎶🙏✨
Gayatri mantra is chanted to invoke Savitur, the spiritual Sun. We pray and meditate upon the light of the rising Sun to guide us on the path. The 1st pada of Hasta brings unexpected changes when least expected. New circumstances emerge that are in conflict with the other aspects at play, and a major transformation is experienced. Ketu the south node joining the moon here brings many frustrations, but the essence of this placement is to recognize life beyond its present restrictions. 🌞🙌🌀
Mercury is a key player in this March 25’th eclipse because it's going down in its ruling sign of Virgo, while it is currently in its sign of debilitation: Pisces. Mercury is also especially vulnerable as it stands at the infamous gandanta point at the time of this eclipse, a notoriously challenging gap in the zodiac where we transition from water to fire. This leaves the emotional and mental bodies particularly unprotected. Mercury will also move from Pisces into Aries 12 hours after the eclipse at 17:00 EST on Monday. With Mercury gandanta for much of Sunday and all day on Monday - this is not a day to travel. Travel is also not advised for the April 8 eclipse as well - it also being gandanta! 🚫✈️🌌🌊🔥
