Description

Shareholders agreements, SAFE notes, contracts, IP, your first hire... When did you last get a straight answer to a legal question without watching the bill tick up?

Most founders put off legal until something goes wrong. It's one of the most common, and most expensive, habits in early-stage business. Getting the basics right early costs far less than fixing them later.

Join us for this lunchtime session with Phillip Kilazoglou from Zed Law, a Sydney-based firm that works with 500+ startups and scaleups. Their lawyers come with big-firm training but work the founder way: straight advice, fast turnarounds and fair fees. Phillip leads Zed's corporate and commercial work, advising founders on capital raising, venture capital and M&A, so he sees firsthand where startups get tripped up.

Phillip will kick off with a quick intro to startup law and who Zed Law are, then it's over to you. Bring your burning questions and get them answered by specialist startup lawyers, live.

What we'll cover

  • The legal foundations every startup needs, and when you actually need them

  • Common legal mistakes founders make (and how to avoid them)

  • What to think about before you raise: SAFEs, priced rounds, shareholders agreements and ESOPs

  • Who Zed Law are and how they work with founders

  • Your questions, live and unfiltered. No question is too basic. The basic ones are usually the ones that save you the most!

Shall we make it a little more fun?

Want even MORE? Everyone that asks a question in the session gets a FREE month in TRW's new Female Founder Grow community.
