About this event:

In this PMINZ webinar, Ishan draws on his upcoming 2026 PMINZ Conference talk, “Beyond the Framework: How PMBOK® 8 and M.O.R.E. Elevate Real‑World Project Success,” exploring how the M.O.R.E. Framework strengthens project responsiveness, improves stakeholder alignment, and enhances value delivery in fast‑moving environments.

About the Presenter:

Ishan Wiratunga is a project management professional with over 20 years of global experience across New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Asia, and Sri Lanka, specialising in project delivery, academic training, and value‑driven methodologies. With a career spanning large‑scale infrastructure projects with the Japanese, higher education lecturing, apprenticeship training in the UK, and curriculum development, he brings a uniquely holistic perspective on how modern project environments really operate.
A PMP‑certified practitioner and Co‑Lead of the PMINZ Mentoring SIG, Ishan has trained, mentored, and supported a multidisciplinary workforce at all stages—working extensively with diverse workforces and integrating ISO‑aligned quality frameworks, AI‑enabled project methods, and outcomes‑based educational practices. His academic portfolio includes lecturing in project management, risk, decision‑making, and facilities management at both undergraduate and degree‑apprenticeship levels, as well as designing multi‑modal project management programs covering waterfall, agile, and hybrid approaches.

Known for his clear teaching style, focus on critical thinking, and practical application of emerging project methods, Ishan works to develop future‑ready project talent—advocating for a shift from process‑heavy outputs toward value‑centred, outcomes‑oriented delivery.
