The Lunch and Learn Farm Finance Basics is a 4-part online weekly program designed for farm business owners, managers, and anyone on the farm who wants to build their financial knowledge and confidence.

The program will help you gain the knowledge and tools to better understand and address the unique risks, challenges and opportunities facing your farm business.

What you'll cover

• The importance of financial literacy 

• The difference between management accounts and compliance accounts, and why we need both.

• Money mindset and the importance of communication around the farm finances

• The purpose of and what a Profit and Loss and Balance sheet tells us, how to read and interpret it. 

• Cash flow forecasting and how to set one up. 

What you'll gain

• Greater clarity around basic business reports, how to read them and how to set up and fill in a cash flow forecast.

• Financial knowledge and tools to better understand and address the unique risks, challenges and opportunities facing your farm business.

• Financial skills to strengthen and future-proof your farm business plan to improve resilience and prepare for future conditions.

• Access to topic-specific planning support, including cash flow budgets.

• Increased confidence and capability to achieve your business goals through practical skills and applied learning.

What's included?

• 4 x 1-hour weekly webinars

• 1 x 1-hour follow-up one-on-one coaching session per participant to go through your individual farm numbers, problems and questions in confidence.

• A participant workbook containing the presentations and activities worked through during the program.

• A cash flow forecast template to help you build and manage your own farm business cash flow forecast.

When: Thursdays, 1:00–2:00 pm 

Commencing: Thursday 27 August 2026 for 4 weeks, 3 September, 10 September & 17 September
