Event description

Movember is the leading charity dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. In this high-impact session led by Pete Whish, Movember Development Manager, we will dive into what Movember is all about, why men die on average 4 years earlier than women, and the critical health issues facing men today: Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Mental Health, and Suicide Prevention.

Key Outcomes of the Session:

  • Life Expectancy: Understand the factors that contribute to poor health outcomes for men.
  • Cancer Risks: Learn about the risks of prostate and testicular cancer, and how men can take early action to protect their health.
  • Mental Health: Explore why male suicide may be the biggest hidden health crisis today.
  • Masculinity and Health: Discover how traditional masculinity norms can prevent men from seeking help when they need it.
  • Support Strategies: Learn how to support friends and family members using the ALEC framework (Ask, Listen, Encourage Action, Check-in).
  • Takeaway Tools: Leave with practical tactics and digital tools that can be used in your workplace or community to promote men's health.

Who should attend?
