EYES ON ART – 'Stuffed, Bolstered and Upholstered' with Lee Kinsella
Event description
Students are invited to join us for a special program of ‘looking at art’ in EYES ON ART at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery during the university’s common lunch time (1-2pm) on Tuesdays during 2024.
Curator of the exhibition Stuffed, Bolstered and Upholstered, Lee Kinsella, will focus upon materiality and texture, as Lee does close readings of Judy Watson's fossil, 1992-93, and The pioneers, 1990, by LODWICK©AMPBEL.

Stuffed, Bolstered & Upholstered
Aligning with the theme for the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial IOTA24: ‘Codes in Parallel’, this exhibition investigates systems of power as they are enacted upon bodies.
Utilising a broad definition of fibre & textiles, contemporary makers fuse traditions of old with a modern edge to create pieces that critique power dynamics.
Stuffed, Bolstered & Upholstered is a major showing of textile works from CCWA, UWAAC, Berndt with loans and commissions for new works.

Please note: in keeping with the University's guidelines, space is limited for this event and registration is required.
