Lisa Forrest captained the Australian swimming team at the 1980 Olympics and is a Commonwealth Games dual gold medallist After retiring from competitive swimming at age 22 she became the first woman to host a national sports program. She has anchored both radio and TV shows beyond sport, acted on stage and TV, as well as authoring six novels. Lisa is now a mindfulness-based life-coach helping her clients find less stress and more joy in life.
Guest Speakers
Dr Sophie Scamps, MBBS MPH MSc (Hons Oxford) FRACGP is a GP on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. After studying medicine at Sydney University, she earned a Master of Public Health from the University of NSW and a Master of Science with honours from Oxford University.
Dr Sophie is the founder of the community group Our Blue Dot, which applies community solutions to reducing carbon emissions and waste on the Northern Beaches.
She is also co-founder of the community movement Mackellar Rising.
Louise Hislop was campaign manager of James Mathison's lightening federal election campaign in 2016, co-founder of grassroots community movement Voices of Warringah, co-campaign manager of Zali Steggall's successful 2019 election campaign, former staffer of Zali Steggall and now candidate for Your Northern Beaches Independent team in the upcoming council elections.
James Mathison is a media personality, curator of the brand new political news podcast ToDaily, 2016 Independent candidate in Warringah and keen observer of Australian politics.
Mark Kelly was founder of the Vote Tony Out movement that created a community driven campaign to oust the ex PM from Warringah which led to Zali Steggall becoming the independent candidate. Mark started 30 months prior to the 2019 federal election and by election day had around 6% of the electorate wearing his T-Shirts. Today Mark is using his activist skills to mentor groups around Australia in grassroots tribe building, including Mackellar Rising.
