Macrame for Beginners: Bottle Bag with Maddy
Event description
Are you likely to be gifting a bottle of wine this Xmas? Or need to know you'll remain H2O hydrated all through the Summer, with your loyal drink bottle by your side? How about a fun reusable bag that you've made yourself?
So many creations are possible with macrame, which in its basic form is a series of simple knots. These bottle bags are a good beginner project, as the knots themselves are extremely simple but are functionally sound and with some glitzy macrame cord make for a celebratory gift or keeper.
This is also a useful project to get your head around 3D macrame (like pot plant holders). Once you've given it a go, making your next bag will be much simpler and faster.
What will we cover?
In this class we will learn to:
Work with different types of macrame cord
Use a single basic knot and plait to create a drink bottle bag
Work with tension - how to create knots that are evenly space and suitably tight or loose
Recognise macrame knots to apply on other projects
Suitable for beginners, with all materials provided.
