    Event description

Spring will soon be here and with all the indoor plants we have acquired lately, we are all going to need lots of space next to windows! Why not making macrame plant hangers and double up the space?

Join us and learn a few simple knots to make any sort of macrame plant hanger as well as many other macrame patterns.

    What will we cover?

    In this class, we’ll learn:

    • About the best material to use for macrame planters
    • Where to source them
    • Basic macrame knots
    • We'll get started on our beautiful planters

    What will you need?

    • Rope, string, cord, etc,.
      • Any rope-like material would work to create macrame. The thicker the rope, the easier it is to learn knots and it would be able to hold bigger pots.
Best examples would be cotton rope/cord and jute.
      • IF you don't have any rope or string, I have put together a tutorial on how to make tshirt yarn.  All you need is an old tshirt and a pair of scissors.
Learn how to here > https://youtu.be/aScOfkUocno
      • You will need about 3 pieces of rope at 2 to 3 metres per piece.
      • You are welcome to use more than one colour of rope to design your macrame piece.
    • Scissors
    • Optional - To make it easier to knot, you could use any stand you have at home to hang your piece. A coat/hat stand would be the best example.
*This is not necessary, you can also just work on the table.
