Macrame Upcycling Workshop
Event description
Macrame Upcycling Workshop at Lithgow Union Theatre Gallery
Saturday, 21 June 2025, 9am – 12pm
Learn ways to upcycle treasured items at the Macrame Upcycling Workshop.
Karen, from Knots with Style, will guide you through the steps to make your own beautiful macrame potholder during the workshop.
A collection of teapots and some other items will be available so that you can select an upcycled ‘pot’ to use in your potholder.
Macrame has many possibilities so, in addition to creating a handmade potholder and upcycled ‘pot’, you will develop skills that could help you to extend the life of other cherished treasures by using them in creative new ways.
No experience is necessary, so whether this is your very first time trying the craft or you have tried macrame before, this workshop will provide you with an opportunity to learn new skills from an experienced teacher in a small, friendly group of learners.
This workshop is part of the Waste2Art program so you might also like to choose to share your work in the community art exhibition and inspire others to find creative ways to avoid waste.
Cost: $55
The cost includes the workshop and materials to make your own potholder, an upcycled ‘pot’ and a take-home guide to macrame knots.
